In 1973 I took a speech class in high school. The speech had to be about something that touched one’s emotions. I was reading my mom’s Readers Digest and came upon the poem “Think Of Me First As A Person ” by Rita Draginis. I read the poem with all of the emotions I could, a lot of them cried. Mission accomplished, I got an A
42 years later I still have the same original poem that I tore out the Readers Digest. It has travelled with me in every wallet I own. Just today I showed it to someone who has a beautiful heart and he made copies for me. I was on the internet searching to see if I could find any more information. I came upon this site. I am so touched that a documentary was made about this sweet little boy using this poem as it’s title, it’s beginnings. Beautiful absolutely beautiful. Thank you!
